Please Note: Your project's budget and timeframe are discussed before any work starts and Melissa is very reliable in honoring the final agreement on all projects.

Script Consulting & Editing:
Script Consulting Entails: Evaluating a finished manuscript only. Melissa's overall story notes on plotlines, structure, characters, and dialogue are written directly on your manuscript pages for your review. You then get a 1 hour consultation on the phone or Skype to go over any further questions.
Turn-around Time: Normally 3-5 days from time project is received with 2/3 of payment (except for book manuscripts, which take longer).
Fees:
One Act Play (up to 70 pages):

Book Manuscript (250 words per page, DS):
Editing Entails: Whatever is needed for the project, such as:
Developmental Editing: more extensive, detailed, line by line notes for revising an existing manuscript text to make it stronger overall including deleting or moving sections around if needed, or using only ideas to create an outline for the first draft of a manuscript.
Fees start at $50.00 per hour (on all manuscripts) and do not include any ghostwriting or writing for hire services on project (see below for more information on that).
Copyediting: correcting the grammar and proofing the overall final manuscript lay-out. Fees start at $30.00 per hour (on all manuscripts).
The Chicago Manual of Style is used for all copyediting work dealing with grammar.
Note: For book manuscripts only a "per page rate" for all editing work may be discussed after the initial manuscript evaluation is done ( though a "by the hour" rate may still be best to use).
Personal Writing Coaching:
Entails: Whatever your specific writing needs are, Melissa will work with you to help you achieve them by discussing whatever concerns you, be it a specific project you want to start or are stuck on, goals for your project after it is finished, or whatever else you want to learn.
Sessions are done over the phone or Skype and can be scheduled for up to 2 hours at a time. You can schedule a one-time session, or schedule them weekly if you need more inspiration and guidance to help you get through a project from start to finish.
Fee: $50.00 per hour
Monthly Special: Book 1 hour a week for 4 weeks for $180.00 (A $20.00 savings!)
P.R. Assistance:
Entails: Building an individualized “platform” for your project (and yourself, if applicable), once it’s ready. Learn how to do a press release, collect quotes for testimonies, submit your work for review, about contests to enter to gain recognition of your work, how to create a press kit once you have enough material, and what an individualized project launch should include for your specific project's medium.
Fee: $50.00 per hour
Pitching Help:
Entails: How to pitch your project once it’s ready. Learn what a “pitch” actually is, get information on seeking representation, how to determine where the best markets to submit your work are, and how to write and send out your own query letters, book proposals, and pitch materials.
Fee: $50.00 per hour
Research Services:
Entails: Need help researching for a specific project? Melissa is a fast, efficient, and focused research assistant. She also loves learning, so all topics interest her!
Turn-around Time: Depends on the project, but usually within a few days of getting the assignment.
Fee: $40.00 per hour
Writing for Hire & Ghostwriting:
Writing for Hire Entails: Need someone to write your pitch page, press release, put together your press kit materials or book proposal, write an article for your on-line newsletter or web pages, or do some other specific project? Talk to Melissa about how she can help! (This service is for non-story writing or ghostwriting projects.)
Turn-around Time: Depends on project.
Fee: $50.00 per hour
Ghostwriting Entails: If you are looking for a writer or ghostwriter for your manuscript or script idea, please talk to Melissa about the specifics. If it is something unlike any of her own original work she will consider working on it. (A nondisclosure agreement will be signed.)
Turn-around Time: Depends on project, but a timeframe will be set up in a contract stating dates to finish the outline/treatment and each full draft.
Fee: Will depend on the project and will be a set flat fee instead of an hourly charge. (Payments can be made in installments.)
